Most of the 100 million people in and around the Sahara Desert have never heard that they can be forgiven and reconciled to God. They do not know Jesus Christ. Prayer and action by Christians around the world can change this. Just as the desert literally flourishes when there is water and seed in the ground, so too we in Youth With A Mission (YWAM) believe this region will spiritually flourish in God's timing. "The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom... they will see the glory of the Lord, the splendor of our God." (Isaiah 35:1-2, NIV)
