Our Story Began When God Called People Like You — and They Obeyed

“Jesus is God. It is the truth. We believe!”

This voice message was sent by a North African believer just one year ago. Simple yet powerful, these words are evidence of the deep and ongoing work of the Holy Spirit across North Africa.

Seeing North African friends come to saving faith in Jesus is often the result of a long and costly journey. It can take years of friendship, shared meals, storytelling, evangelism, reading Scripture together, and persistent prayer before the Lord. Every person who chooses to follow Jesus represents a significant victory for the Kingdom of God.

In 1991, the YWAM North Africa Base was established in Southern Spain as a strategic launching point for ministry into North Africa. Predominantly Muslim and with very limited Gospel access, the region includes Algeria, Chad, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Niger, and Tunisia.

Today, YWAM North Africa equips and sends workers into the region through its Discipleship Training School (DTS) and Foundations in Intercultural Studies (FIS) program. The base also serves long-term workers by providing hospitality, community, and member care for those serving across North Africa.

Our team remains committed to pioneering ministry in places where more than 130 million people are still unreached with the Gospel — believing that God is continuing to call people like you to be part of His work among the nations.
