Know God and Make Him Known

DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING SCHOOL

Discipleship Training School (DTS) is a 5-month course designed to deepen your relationship with God and equip you to make Him known across the nations. It's a life-changing experience that will challenge, grow, and launch you into your calling.

Lecture Phase

Seek God with all your heart, hear His voice and find His plan for your life.

During the lecture phase, you’ll encounter God in a deeper way — learning to hear His voice, diving into His Word, and uncovering the unique calling He has placed on your life. This is for anyone ready to leave the ordinary behind and step into a bold, surrendered life with Jesus.

You’ll learn through practical experiences, receive powerful teaching, and grow within a real, intentional community that challenges, inspires, and supports you every step of the journey. And the best part? You won’t just take in information — you’ll immediately begin living it out!

Lecture Phase takes place in Málaga, Spain

Outreach Phase

Travel the world with a team, meet real needs and show people the love and power of the gospel.

Outreach is where faith and action come together. Your team will bring the love of Jesus to life in different communities around the world — through everything you do. From street evangelism and youth ministry to acts of compassion and supporting local churches, you’ll be the hands and feet of Christ.

This phase is about stepping out of your comfort zone, immersing yourself in new cultures, and carrying hope and transformation wherever you go.

Throughout this journey, you will be shaped, empowered, and challenged to live out the gospel like never before. You’ll witness God at work, discover new gifts, and find a purpose that changes lives — including your own.

"Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations." — Matthew 28:19

 FAQs

  • You must be at least 18 years old or have graduated from high school by the time the DTS begins.

There is no upper age limit — everyone is welcome!

We’re looking for committed Christians with a genuine desire to grow in their relationship with God and to step deeper into a life of faith and mission.

  • Both the Classic DTS and the Outdoor Pursuits DTS offer the full Discipleship Training School experience:

    • A deep focus on knowing God, growing in your faith, and discovering your purpose

    • Weekly lectures, worship, prayer, local outreach, and life in community

    • A cross-cultural outreach phase after the lecture phase

The core teaching and outreach are the same in both tracks.
The difference? The Outdoor Pursuits DTS adds a unique outdoor adventure element on weekends throughout the school.

It’s designed for those who want to connect with God through nature, adventure, and physical challenge.

You’ll get to experience activities like hiking, camping, kayaking, bungee jumping, and more—growing in teamwork, perseverance, and leadership along the way.

  • We’ll let you know via email, and this will contain any further additional information you’ll need.

  • If you are a citizen of a European Union country, you do not need a visa to attend the DTS.

If you are from a country that has visa-free access to the Schengen Area —such as the United States, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and many others… you will be granted 90 days in Spain upon arrival. Since the DTS will use almost all of those days, we strongly recommend that you do not plan any trips within Europe before or after the DTS, to avoid overstaying.

If you are from a country outside of the EU or Schengen visa-free list, you will need to apply for a visa. Please check with us if you're unsure. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to assist with visa applications on short notice.

  • Absolutely!

At YWAM, we deeply value families in missions. We believe that it's not just the father or mother who is called, but the entire family — including single-parent families. We encourage strong, healthy family units where each person contributes uniquely to life in the community and the mission field.

This means that while you're in Spain and on outreach, each member of your family will have a meaningful role and a place in our community.

Every family situation is unique, so feel free to email us for more details tailored to your needs!
